These self-paced professional development courses are available in a variety of topics related to teaching and learning. Courses are delivered online in Blackboard and faculty may complete them at their own pace. Certificates are provided at the completion of the course.

This self-paced online course is for remote/online teachers who want to assess learning
to keep students on track. In 20-minutes the course provides many ideas specific to
online and remote teaching for activities, assignments, and assessments that gauge
learning. All faculty completing the course will receive a certificate of completion.
This 40-minute seminar course explores methods and instruments to judge the quality
of online teaching. This course is especially valuable for faculty and academic leaders.
Learn why there is an increased danger of attrition in online courses and how to address
this in four key areas: course design, instructor presence, personal attention, and
connectedness to the institution.
Learn several design and facilitation ideas to help you create a better learning experience
for your students. You’ll see examples of online discussion activities, including
student posts and instructor feedback to those posts as well as an assessment rubric
template you can use to evaluate the quality of your online discussions and help you
adapt what you learn in this webinar to your own online courses.

In the Blackboard Essentials self-pace course, you will learn about the basics of
Blackboard. Participants will learn the basics of navigation, course tools, and procedures
necessary to create new course content. All faculty/staff completing the course will
receive a certificate of completion.

to their curricula simply by examining their assumptions and making slight modifications

curriculum to keep pace with new technologies. In this self-paced course, you will
learn all about video creation from inception to viewing and discover simple ways
to effectively create and deliver online video content.
